A Los Angeles based company recently released their amazing new product. This product is a pair of Sunglasses that, by using vibrations, plays music without the need for earbuds or headphones. They call this product Zungle.
How Does it Work?
This first video gives a break down of the different components that make up the glasses and gives a demonstration of how it works, explaining how to use the built in controller and how to charge it:
This video gives a brief overview and shows them crowd testing their product:
From their two videos, as well as from their website, they give pretty good overview of how their device works. For example, the videos show off how bone conductivity allows the user to hear the music as loudly as they want to while not bothering those around them. Their website also sheds some light on how long the battery lasts on them. Supposedly a full charge can last up to four hours straight, with only one hour of charging time. This device connects to your phone via bluetooth and you can play, pause, skip and go back, all using the built in dial. The lenses also pop out so you can replace them with any Oakley Frogskins‘ lenses.
Where Can You Learn More About Zungle?
You can learn more by checking out their website or by checking out their Kickstarter campaign. On their campaign, you can pledge varying amounts of money for various different rewards ranging from a very nice thank you, to your own pair of glasses, to 100 pairs of glasses. Their campaign has been very successful. They have raised over 27 times their $50,000 goal. Surprisingly, there are 8 people who pledged the highest amount to get 100 pairs. This is a pledge of $8,000 or more.
Comments and Opinions
I believe that the Zungle is an amazing concept. This would allow people to listen to music clearly and at any volume they want with less risk of annoying those around them. It is also vey beneficial to those that find earbuds very uncomfortable and don’t want to have to lug around over ear headphones. By not having to put anything in your ear, it should allow for a more comfortable listening experience. This is an amazing idea and I can’t wait to see how well it takes off.
