A company by the name of NullSpace VR has recently released their new haptic response Virtual Reality (VR) suit. This suit will allow the user to not only play the game but feel it too. They call it theĀ Hardlight VR Suit.

How Does it Work?

This suit allows the user to feel any impacts from within their game by use of haptic sensors. It connects to your VR headset to allow you to obtain a more fully integrated experience. These sensors are designed to analyze were the character in the games being hit and gives you feedback in the same location. As well these sensors allow the user to use their body as part of their controller including being able to see and control more than just your hands in VR.

It is currently fully compatible with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift as well as other VR systems. Currently the suit works with just over 15 games but that number is expanding as the software is integrated into more titles. Weighing in at 3.5 lbs this suit is lightweight, durable, adjustable and easy to use. Simply put it on and connect it via usb to start feeling the haptic sensors at work.

Comments and Opinions

This is an amazing product. The Hardlight VR suit lets the user control the entire upper body of their character as well as feel integrated into the game. I believe that this combined with technology like the KAT WALK would allow the users to have the most immersive experience possible, by allowing them to control the upper body, head, hands, and legs of their characters. This would allow you to run, jump, dodge and feel everything as it is happening. We are well on our way to creating fully immersive virtual reality.
