A company based out of the UK has created a product to help more people learn how to build computers in a fun and easy way. This computer set comes with all the necessary parts but disassembled for you to build it. This project is called Kano.

How Does it Work?

This video shows how easy it is to put together their pre bundled computer parts. As it shows the motherboard is preassembled with all of the ports you will need. You need only plug in the power, operating system (SD Card) and the monitor.

According to their Kickstarter campaign, this package includes a keyboard with a built-in trackpad, a Raspberry Pi Model B, all of your cables, instructions and more. The instructions give a step by step guide on how everything fits together.

This package has many potential uses but it is geared towards teaching people (particularly kids) how to build computers.

Where Can You Learn More About Kano?

You can learn more about this project on their website or on their Kickstarter campaign page. Their campaign is over but it has some good information about the project.

Comments and Opinions

I think that this is an amazing idea. This product allows the user to build their own computer without having to worry if the parts are all compatible. They get the experience and the introduction to working with building computers without any of the stress of buying all of the parts separately. This project is a great chance for young kids or anyone who wants to become more tech savvy to introduce them to how computers work. Kano is an amazing project that could influence more people to become interested in computer science.
