The Hacksmith, James Hobson, has made it his passion to create exoskeletons and recreate weapons and gadgets from movies. Personally, the Captain is one of my favourite superheroes. He is just, fair and a force for good. He was also a mere skinny human boy before they gave him the super soldier serum. This story gave many hope that they too could become a super soldier. So you can imagine how exciting it is to hear that someone attempted to create an electromagnetic Captain America Shield.
How Does it Work?
Here is a teaser that they released:
Here is a video that explains how they made the arm guard that attracts the shield:
Here is a final video of them trying it out:
The video explains how they used two electromagnets for a combined lifting power of 1380 kg. That is a lot of power. Unfortunately, the amount of power to required to pull the shield from the distances shown in the movies, is exponentially greater than what is physically possible. Which just goes to show that the original comic idea, where he is just very skilled at bouncing it back to himself is a lot more plausible. Regardless, Hobson still took it upon himself to create the closest thing he could to the movie shield, and it is pretty awesome.

Comments and Opinions
The Hacksmith’s Captain America Shield is really cool. If I could order one I would. This shield is a really cool concept and, with practice, one would be able to perfect throwing and catching it. I mentioned how the Captain gave people hope that they could one day be a superhero. I now believe that the Hacksmith gives us hope that, with enough ingenuity, any of us really could become the next Cap, Iron Man or Batman.
