A Spanish company called Arkyne Technologies has recently created a device that, through photosynthesis, creates and stores electricity. This device is a planter that is completely transportable and looks completely decorative until you plug your phone into it to charge. They call it Bioo Lite.

How Does it Work?

As the video explains, they use a “biological micro-organic solution” that interacts with water. Once the plant is integrated, it sends the organic substances, that occur as a result of photosynthesis, to the bacteria. The bacteria then breaks up the waste causing electrons to break free. These electrons are then gathered and stored. Once stored, the energy can be accessed via the built in usb port. They claim that it can handle 2-3 full charges per day.

How Can You Support/Learn More About Bioo Lite?

You can learn more by checking out their website. Here they also discuss the Bioo Panel, a much larger version of the Bioo Lite. If you want to purchase one or support their development, you can check out their Indiegogo campaign. They have already more than quadrupled their €15,000 goal. Each different amount donated gets a different perk.
