A company called Zero Zero Robotics has recently unveiled their new device that will hover in place and take pictures of you. This camera uses a new form of technology to help guide it. They call it the Hover Camera.
A silicon valley startup company by the name of Speaktoit created a software that allows the user to create their own chatbot. This software has recently been bought by Google. It has had many applications so far and is integrated into a lot of the software that we already use. This software is called api.ai.
A company by the name of Unanimous A.I. developed a technology that allows people to work together as a collective to make predictions, answer problems or have intellectual discussions. This software uses swarm intelligence to come up with its answers. This software is called UNU.
A group of researchers at MIT‘s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) recently developed a new technology that can infer human emotions using wireless signals. They call it the EQ-Radio.
This is an amazing breakthrough in artificial intelligence. Mathew Lai at Imperial College London has created an artificial intelligence machine that taught itself to play chess at grand master level in only 72 hours. The grand masters of chess are seen as the standard for the best human players for any game, in this case it is chess. Chess is a great game to test a deep learning machine against because it has all of the information (the pieces) visible to both players, and none of the game is up to chance. A good example of the opposite is poker because it has both hidden information and elements of chance. This is why humans are still, on average, better than computers at games similar to poker, whereas computers have been much better than the majority of humans for a long time.
There has been a lot of talk recently about artificial intelligence (AI) with many of the great minds of our time warning for a cautious approach to the future of AI. Some of these people include Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates and Elon Musk. They have urged the general public and government to be wary of the future of AI. They also insist that we ensure that when a fully functioning AI is created that its goals are aligned with ours. They have also warned the governments to not pursue any AI integrated military ventures, but the US government has not listened. Thus the Elon Musk and others have decided to support ventures such as OpenAI that want to see the possible bright future of AI come to light.
The ArcaBoard is the latest innovation from the ARCA Space Corporation. This new release marks the start of a new age in technology and transportation. Unlike the Breezeboard sold by companies like Swegway which some have called hover boards, the new board made by ARCA can actually hover.
A boolean expression is evaluated by using certain operators to come to a true or false answer. The operators are:
== – Returns true if the values on either side are equal
!= – Returns true if the values on either side are not equal
< – Returns true if the value on the left is less than the value on the right
<= – Returns true if the value on the left is less than or equal to the value on the right
> – Returns true if the value on the left is greater than the value on the right
>= – Returns true if the value on the left is greater than or equal to the value on the right
&& – (And) Returns true if both values are true.
|| – (Or) Returns true if either value is true
A couple of days ago reddit.com started an Ask Me Anything (AMA) with Stephen Hawking to discuss his views on the future of Artificial Intelligence and for people to ask questions regarding the subject. Unlike other AMAs, this one will not be live. It will be in a comment fashion, where you post your question and then Professor Hawking can answer them at his own pace.
Welcome to A.I. Clarke!
